To get a second passport through an expediting service, there are several things that you have to remember. When availing an expediting service, this means that you will speed up the delivery of your passport because you need it urgently. You may get your passport in a span of as much as one to three days. In connection with this, the people who are doing the expediting service are the ones who do the entire application process for you. You are not only going to get your passport earlier than you expected, but you will also enjoy the convenience and security the expediting service is doing for you. The second way to get a one is through the government, which also offers a secure way to get your passport.  In the same manner, you have to fill out forms which are necessary for your application process. You have to fill out a Form DS-82, which can be accessed through the internet. Also, you have to provide a letter of explanation about your reasons for getting a second passport. The letter must come directly from the applicant himself, and not from another entity, such an applicant's employer. You should include your current valid passport when applying for this service. However, if your passport is already within one year of expiration, you should apply for a renewal first before applying for a second one. Two 2x2 passport photos should also be submitted, and these should be identical. For the payment, the application costs $127 which should be made payable to the US Department of State. Availing a second passport is not really a tedious task. Just make sure that there is an urgent need for a second one for business purposes so that your application will be processed at once. After the application process, whether you apply through the government or expediting service, then you will have no problem at all.
